S.O.A.R was founded in march of 2004 by Leo, Ana, Tanya, and Lori. And it goes something like this: (its writen by Leo so
it'll be in my point of view... dont get confused or anything, I'm a crazy writer)
So I walk into Spanish, and no, not Fifi again. I hate this class it's sooo freaking boring. I pick up a newspaper for
the "10 minutos de lectura" that he's so anal about and right there on the front page... BAM. A huge picture of
the most adorable piglet ever. I read this article on her and find out that her name is Bacon and the agriscience people are
fattening her up to auction off the fair. No way I was going to let this happen. So I get home and write an email to PETA,
and eventually I get a response about some news ppl wanting an interview... so let's skip all the boring stuff in between
and fast forward to when i told Ana. She's busts out with "yeah sure I'll go to the schoolboard meeting" (we were
trying to change the policy that says this could happen). Then somehow i met Tanya and she came along too! One day in Clavijo
I was writing something on the board and I meet Lori. Bla, bla boring stuff. Well, after we harrass money from people to save
Bacon, we meet some "ay mami" mexicans, and we eat one too many chips on the sidewalk while we asked each other
"wanna buy a worm", we ended up becoming really good friends. After saving Daisy (we renamed her) with A LOT of
help from Jackie (love her!) and Specimen X, plus some other anonymous helpers... we decided not to stop there... sure we
saved one pig (actually 3 plus a lamb) but we could save so many more... that's when SOAR came in. Lori and Tanya came up
with the name because they are creative like that, and here we are!
I LOVE YOU GUYS! thanks for being my best friends through thick and thin!!! (i know that's cheesy and we are not really
supoused to thank ppl here but w\e) and a special thanks to jackie who motivated us all!!!
note: tanya is no longer a soar member, but i felt it was evil to cut her out of the story, anyway, this is just in case
you were wondering why she isnt on the site! <3Leo
